USELESS!
I bought this because of the high star ratings by other purchasers. I was misled. I live in rural SC and have lots of "critters" that creep at night. I put it on the corner of the garage so I wouldn't be surprised by bobcats, fox, armadillo or SNAKES. I sent the dogs out last night to check it - it came on -- if you are standing under it and don't squint. The circle of light, which is so dim you couldn't see a bobcat standing in it, was only about 2 feet around. It was comparable to a flashlight that needs new batteries. I am more than disappointed. It cost $28 plus postage. So where is it now -- in my back hallway for guests who need to use the second bathroom. A PIECE OF JUNK!
Exactly what I wanted
It's surprisingly bright. Sensor has a wide angle so it turns on well in advance of when I need it. Has turned on when covered in snow. There is a warning about it not working well in very cold temps but it has held up to below zero temps so far.
My only complaint is esthetic. The design is fine but in person it looks very cheap, which is too bad because its performance is anything but.
great battery-powered light
i needed a porch light for a house i'm renting. the porch doesn't have any power wires or outlets so i was using solar-powered LEDs. unfortunately the porch doesn't get much sun, so those lights never worked well.
i saw these battery-powered motion sensor lights on a tech review site and had to get one. the thing took 5 minutes to install above my door and lights up when i'm 20 feet away. its bright enough to see the whole area around my door, including the keyhole on my door. i'd buy another if i had another porch!
