Customer Reviews

The Best !!!5
I must say that this is the best little piece of equipment that I have bought in a long time. If you work or play in the dark and need hands free for whatever you may be doing, this is it. Its affordable and it works great ! Make sure you get the charging accessories to go with it for your cell phone, etc. It can be charged by solar or you can plug it in to recharge it. The charge lasts a long time. The area if lights up is perfect. Very bright. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I get a lot of questions about it when people see me using it. They want to know where they can get one. I will be getting quite a few of these as presents for friends.

Useful!5
So, I bought this because it made sense to me. Finally, an affordable utilitarian light that doesn't require batteries and is solar charged. If you are looking for headlamp performance this is not the piece for you. The light isn't focused and isn't adjustable but for its size puts off quite a bit of light. The key is that you never have to replace dead batteries and never have to be in that situation where your batteries are dying. Overall, I use this thing all the time because of this simple detail...

Great idea--Too bad it didn't work at all1
I purchased this item based on two great reviews, and the review in Backpacker magazine (Their summary: a good light with easily breakable clips). I tested it by leaving it out in the sun all day and then turning on the light and leaving it on all night. It worked. I planned to take it on a 9-day backpack trip and didn't want to pack extra batteries for a traditional headlamp. I also bought the converter to charge a cellphone. I tried to charge my cellphone with it just before leaving on my trip, but was not able to do so and I didn't have time to fiddle with it. Later that night the lamp shut off abruptly after working for 10 minutes. Thinking that I had used up the solar charge by trying to charge the cellphone, I clipped it to my hat and hiked with it exposed to the sun all day. No luck: The lamp refused to turn on at all. It's dark out there in the mountains. Thank goodness I happened to have a small LED light with me as well, because this headlamp was useless.
