The portable EL6 Compact Solar Lamp provides 60 lumens of light for up to 12hrs of bright white light per charge. The 4"x6" solar panel recharges the Compact Solar Lamp in about 6 hours in full sunlight, without needing any source of electricity or batteries. In the Auto position, the three-way switch (on-off-auto) activates a photocell that turns on the LEDs automatically in darkness. Optional accessories are available that allow the user to charge portable electronic devices like cell phones or MP3 players by plugging the accessory into the DC Jack on the Lamp base.

I'm glad I went this route with my headlamp. Not having to buy batteries makes owning this headlamp worth it. Not to mention it performs well.

Works like a champ
I've used this lamp every night for the last 7 months and I love it. I use it for a reading light in bed and it gives me bright light without illuminating the entire room. If I fall asleep reading...oh well. The lamp recharges the next day. No batteries to mess with and no electricity to pay for. Also great when the power goes off and I take it on long road trips, too. One of the best and most useful items I've bought in the last year.
